Requirements
- Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.
- Possess a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.
- Pass a background investigation.
- Submit to and pass a medical examination and a drug screening.
- Submit and approve satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform admission and annual physical and neurological assessments and review patient records to form diagnoses and treatment plans
- Render medical care by conducting daily rounds, ordering diagnostic studies, reviewing results, and providing follow-up care
- Respond to medical emergencies within required timeframes and initiate appropriate medical actions based on hospital procedures
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and treatment teams to integrate medical goals into patient plans and maintain clear communication
- Maintain complete records of diagnoses, treatments, assessments, and clinical decisions to ensure regulatory compliance
- Consult with families, agencies, and external medical professionals to support patient care while maintaining confidentiality
