About The Position

Meijer is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to practice pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with an emphasis on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist fills prescriptions, supports patients and team members, mentors and motivates pharmacy technicians, and helps grow the pharmacy business. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, this person is responsible for pharmacy operations. The pharmacist also performs and oversees clinical services, including immunizations, where permitted. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist certification, except in Indiana.
Retail or community pharmacy practice experience.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy system.
Working knowledge of policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulations in the state where the unit operates.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively.
Help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Apply Meijer policies and procedures and comply with applicable state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Take responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
