About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The position is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with an emphasis on advancing the level of patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist safely and accurately fills prescriptions, provides customer service, performs and oversees clinical services including immunizations where permitted, and supports pharmacy operations. When the pharmacist in charge is absent, this position is responsible for pharmacy operations.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
Retail or community pharmacy practice experience.
Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulatory requirements in the state where the unit operates.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner, and help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform at their highest level.
Follow Meijer policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Take responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
