About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with an emphasis on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist fills prescriptions safely and accurately, supports patient engagement, and performs or oversees clinical services, including immunizations where allowed. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for pharmacy operations. The role also involves mentoring and motivating pharmacy technicians and maintaining effective relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
Retail or community practice experience.
Working knowledge of a pharmacy system, policies and procedures, and regulations in the state where the unit operates.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively, and work to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Maintain competence and knowledge of Meijer policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and serve as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Be responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
