About The Position

Meijer is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to provide patient-directed, clinically oriented pharmacy care and education. The role supports Meijer’s goal of advancing patient care and pharmacy services. The Staff Pharmacist fills prescriptions accurately, builds positive relationships with patients and colleagues, and helps lead and develop pharmacy technicians. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, this position is responsible for pharmacy operations. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy system, policies and procedures, and regulations in the state where the unit operates.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively, and help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform at their highest level.
Apply knowledge of Meijer policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs.
Be responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
