About The Position

The Staff Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with an emphasis on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist fills prescriptions accurately, supports patients and colleagues, and helps grow pharmacy services. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, this position is responsible for pharmacy operations. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy system.
Working knowledge of policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulations in the state where the pharmacy operates.
Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively, and help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them become effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Understand and follow Meijer policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs.
Be responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
