Staff Java Software Engineer

Bloomreach is seeking a Staff Java Backend Software Engineer to join their dedicated team for the Content Paas module of the Bloomreach Experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the full development life cycle, providing technical leadership and mentorship, and improving the architecture and efficiency of the Content module. With a focus on delivering high-quality work and collaborating with teammates, the Staff Java Backend Software Engineer will play a crucial role in the success of the team and the overall customer experience. • Think and own the full development life cycle - from backlog refinement, architecture, technology, coding standards, testing, code reviews to CI/CD and monitoring
• Bring technical leadership to the team and mentor your teammates, help level up the team
• Be a high producer of work with hands-on development
• Help improve architecture, security, stability, and efficiency of the Content module
• Improve and extend the Content Paas platform
• Go through the onboarding program, get to know the company, product, stack & team and deliver initial requests along with teammates
• Work on high priority issues and remove significant pain for the customers
• Build up knowledge on the project and the product roadmap
• Challenge the status quo, mentor teammates, tackle challenging tasks
• Design and build production-grade systems
• Write clean code and ship it with automated tests
• Display a quality mindset regarding unit testing, code review, and integration testing
• Balance between the "perfect solution" and delivering
• Work with containerization, CI/CD, Devops
• Lead and mentor other engineers
• Troubleshoot and reverse engineer complex code
• Work with software in production
• Develop frontend using Javascript/Typescript and Angular
• Have experience with Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Be familiar with JCR
• Invent, simplify, and enhance the productivity of the team
• Lead colleagues who do not directly report to you

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Extensive knowledge of core Java and common Java libraries and frameworks
• Hands-on experience in designing and building production-grade systems
• Strong hands-on programming skills; ability to write clean code and ship it with automated tests
• Quality mindset regarding unit testing, code review, and integration testing
• Ability to balance between the "perfect solution" and delivering
• Working experience with containerization, CI/CD, Devops
• Experience leading and mentoring other engineers is a plus
• Experience with large, complex code
• Reverse engineering and troubleshooting experience
• Experience with software in production
• Frontend development, Javascript/Typescript, Angular experience
• Content Management System (CMS) experience
• JCR familiarity
