Staff Fullstack Engineer

Bobyard•San Francisco, CA
•$170,000 - $190,000•Onsite

About The Position

Bobyard builds computer vision and NLP tools that automate construction takeoffs and estimates, helping contractors bid faster and win more. The company raised a $35M Series A led by 8VC, with Primary and Pear, and is growing quickly. The Staff Fullstack Engineer will own the architecture of Bobyard’s core platform across React, Django, and PostgreSQL, and establish engineering standards for the team. The role addresses the challenge of keeping an application fast while handling large drawings, dense estimates, and computer-vision output that contractors review line by line, as the platform expands to additional trades. This person will own platform architecture across APIs, data models, frontend, and infrastructure; make and document design decisions for substantially increased usage; lead cross-functional initiatives with computer vision, product, and design; and deliver complete features across the stack. The role also includes operating production systems on AWS and GCP, reducing operational load, setting standards for code review, testing, and performance, mentoring engineers, and contributing to hiring. The team moves quickly, and priorities shift as it learns from customers. Playbooks, context, and requirements may be incomplete when work begins, so the engineer is expected to help shape them. This is a full-time, in-person role at Bobyard’s San Francisco office, with in-office work four days per week.
