Fullstack Engineer

Gallatin•Washington, DC
•$80,000 - $210,000

About The Position

Gallatin is rebuilding logistics infrastructure for U.S. national security missions and allied partners, using AI systems to improve how logistics decisions are made. The Fullstack Engineer will build modern tools and demo-ready, end-to-end flows to make resupply operations smarter, faster, and more resilient, working closely with engineers and colleagues across product, UX, and backend development. The role includes extending the existing API layer with performant, accurate CRUD methods; building and maintaining data models and pipelines for the Navigator platform; evolving relational schemas for complex real-world entities; and using Gallatin’s semantic data modeling SDK to design efficient storage and retrieval. The engineer will also contribute tested, production-ready code, help improve CI/CD workflows and engineering practices, and ensure that features and data models support user needs and mission outcomes. The position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. The successful candidate must be able to work in a classified environment when necessary.

Requirements

  • Fullstack proficiency and comfort debugging and navigating issues across the entire stack.
  • Experience building backend APIs or services in a strongly typed language.
  • Familiarity with HTTP response codes.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, including schema design, efficient queries, data integrity, and performance.
  • Experience processing data streams and/or building or maintaining data pipelines or ETL processes to handle complex flows between multiple systems.
  • Experience working with diverse teams across engineering, product, and design to drive projects to completion.
  • Clear, concise communication, including system architecture and everyday documentation.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn and stay current with industry trends and tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical depth in at least one of TypeScript, Python, SQL, or Vue.js.
