The Staff Engineer, Electromechanical Battery Pack Design will own the design responsibility of a new battery pack, from concept through production, driving optimal performance while managing size, weight, manufacturing, and reliability. This role involves hands-on prototyping, testing, qualification, and handoff to production, as well as defining requirements, specifications, assembly drawings, and 2D drawings. The engineer will also be responsible for root cause analysis of failures and production problems, driving a cross-functional team to execute the top-level architecture, and providing mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience
- Strong technical fundamentals in mechanics, thermal design, and electronics
- Have designed and delivered a battery product to market before
- Proficiency in CAD modeling
- Experience with various manufacturing processes
