About the position
This role is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to drive data processing efficiency at Enigma. The main focus is on optimizing data transformations and improving processing time and computational cost. The ideal candidate should have strong technical leadership skills and expertise in Databricks and Spark. They will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's ability to scale and influence the engineering culture. This role offers the challenge of solving complex technical problems and the opportunity to build and grow teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategy for driving data processing efficiency
- Optimize data transformations through methodology and tooling
- Improve processing time and computational cost
- Show the team what good looks like in terms of data processing efficiency
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members
- Lead engineers to increase the efficiency and speed of data processing systems
- Measure impact by the increase in capabilities of the team
- Deliver value in the short, medium, and long term
- Approach difficult data processing problems with a principled approach
- Demonstrate expertise and excellence in engineering craft
- Operate transparently, collaboratively, and with low ego
- Learn from others and welcome ideas being questioned and challenged
- Determine the speed at which the company can scale and impact the developer experience
- Take on technical problems and find solutions
- Build the team's capabilities and influence engineering culture
- Have a clear understanding of Databricks and Spark
- Provide expertise in data processing optimization, data modeling, cluster management, and Databricks performance techniques
- Demonstrate a track record of technical leadership to grow and scale teams
