This role serves as a chaplain (minister) to the patients, their families, and employees at ARMC, acting as a source of positive support, managing on-call responsibilities, and collaborating with clinical units to ensure quality patient care. The chaplain also educates clinical staff on spiritual/religious care and communicates with management regarding departmental operations and patient spiritual care needs. Additionally, they provide support to caregivers through relationship building and rounding.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to assume on-call responsibility in the event a volunteer chaplain is unable to fill an assigned shift.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a chaplain (minister) to the patients, their families, and employees at ARMC.
  • Consistently acts as a source of positive support to patients, families, and employees.
  • Manages scheduled on-call responsibilities and responds to calls appropriately.
  • Identifies, communicates, and actively works with clinical units to assure quality patient care.
  • Encourages community support for Adena Health System.
  • Communicates directly with management team regarding specific issues and trends in spiritual care.
  • Educates the clinical staff concerning the spiritual/religious care of patients and families.
  • Communicates effectively with the Director of Chaplaincy Services concerning issues which affect the daily operations of the department, and/or impact the spiritual care of patients, families, and employees.
  • Must be willing and able to assume on-call responsibility in the event a volunteer chaplain is unable to fill an assigned shift.
  • Responds to codes and requests from staff, patients or family to visit a patient.
  • Support to caregivers through building relationships & consistently rounding.
