Safe Passage Project (SPP) is a nonprofit immigration legal services organization that provides free legal representation to immigrant children facing deportation. Founded in 2013, SPP has more than 60 employees, two offices, an annual budget of over $10 million, and manages over 1,600 open cases each year. It provides direct representation and supports a network of pro bono attorneys through training, mentoring, and supervision. The Staff Attorney joins a team of public interest attorneys and directly represents immigrant children in immigration and related proceedings, including cases involving asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, and other forms of immigration relief. The attorney also guides pro bono attorneys through Family Court and Immigration Court proceedings and representation at the Asylum Office. The position is based in SPP’s Long Island office in Farmingdale, New York. The role has a hybrid work environment; staff currently work from the office one day per week.
