About The Position

The Staff Accountant provides comprehensive accounting and financial support across multiple entities, with a focus on asset accounting, reconciliation, and process improvement. The role supports accurate budgeting, financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel; understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Analytical mindset, high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective communication skills, and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Experience within accounting systems and troubleshooting accounting platform issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of 0–2 years of accounting experience.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and 1099 preparation.
  • Oversee construction accounting functions, including job costing, project cost tracking, and progress reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly construction draws (G702/G703) and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate subcontractor payments, joint checks, and lien waivers, ensuring proper approvals and compliance.
  • Assist with project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow projections; provide financial reporting and analysis to leadership.
  • Ensure accurate coding and recording of project costs across systems (Yardi, Intacct, Procore).
  • Support accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with project managers and development teams; participate in project meetings and provide financial insights.
  • Work with auditors, lenders, and insurance providers to supply required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
