About The Position

GMH Associates is the parent company for the privately owned family of businesses that make up the GMH brand, including GMH Communities and GMH Ventures. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring five (5) days per week in our Newtown Square (Delaware County) office. GMH Associates’ is looking for a Property Accountant to join our team at the corporate office in Newtown Square, PA! The primary function of the Property Accountant is responsible for various accounting tasks for GMH Communities, our real estate division, including business analytics and financial forecasting. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

Requirements

Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance
Two Years Accounting Experience—Required
Experience in Real Estate/Property Management Accounting—Required
High degree of oral and written communication skills—Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
Advanced Excel skills required

Nice To Haves

Experience with MRI, Yardi, Entrata, and/or Quickbooks—Preferred

Responsibilities

Responsible for accounting, bookkeeping and maintenance of the property management operations
Prepare bank reconciliations
Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals
Responsible for the completion of journal entries, variance analysis reports, and ensures related compliance tasks are assigned
Assist in the preparation of budget metrics as well as monthly analysis of budget to actual performance
Maintenance of all records in the property management system relating to updates for changes in tenants, owners, properties, and other related vendor information
Work with property management as directed by Management to accurately record and bill all tenant charges, on a timely basis
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor towards colleagues and management
Maintain confidentiality of corporate/shareholder financial data
