Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • At least 5-years of financial or accounting experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing cost accounting
  • Practical experience with ERP systems
  • Strong collaboration, communication and must be a self-starter

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA is a plus
  • Oracle ERP Applications experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledgers of relevant operation companies.
  • Prepare all required journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely closings.
  • Analyze, identify and quantify balance sheet accounts with exposure and communicate findings to management.
  • Work with operating companies and corporate personnel to ensure proper documentation for and approval of all transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in the review of monthly income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash flow.
  • Identify profit potential and cash flow and RONA improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor transactions for unusual items and, using relevant accounting literature as necessary, research those transactions.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of system-generated reports and use such reports to expedite monthly closings, account analyses, and financial statement preparation.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly workpapers and related variance analyses for Griffon personnel.
  • Prepare annual audit workpapers.
  • Maintain and update appropriate policies, procedures and related documentation.
  • This position will interface with the plant workforce and management team as well as corporate personnel which requires strong communication and cross-collaboration
  • Complete additional tasks as requested.
