About The Position

Trexquant is a growing systematic fund manager with a team of accomplished technologists. We apply statistical and machine learning techniques to build investment portfolios and trade client assets across global equity and futures markets. As we expand our strategies, data, infrastructure, and overseas offices, we are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the management company's day-to-day accounting and to serve as a trained backup for key Middle Office and Controller functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 0–3 years of accounting experience; internship or entry-level hedge fund/financial services experience a plus, not required
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks or willingness to learn quickly
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables)
• High attention to detail and comfort with high transaction volume across many vendors/counterparties
• Interest in learning fund accounting, NAV mechanics, and P&L reconciliation over time

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to Geneva (SS&C/Advent) a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Manage invoice and accounts payable processes, including contract management, and support workflow improvements and automation
• Review and approve interview and relocation expense reimbursements against firm policy
• Administer the employee travel booking platform, including onboarding travelers and approving bookings and expense exceptions
• Maintain the management company books and records, including monthly close
• Review intercompany cost allocation calculations and process funding transfers to overseas offices, in line with transfer pricing policy
• Learn and periodically perform daily P&L and position reconciliation to provide Middle Office coverage
• Learn and periodically assist with monthly NAV review and approval to provide Controller coverage
• Maintain and improve accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls
