About The Position

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for the timely preparation of monthly accounting records and related entries. This role involves completing various activities related to the financial statement close process, including revenue and operating expense accruals, performing analytical reviews, and general ledger reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will also assist with annual and quarterly analysis, prepare income tax workpapers and supporting documentation, and provide support for internal and external audits. A key aspect of this role is the ability to leverage AI productivity tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort, working comfortably alongside automated systems and evaluating AI-generated outputs. The position also focuses on identifying process improvements, participating in special projects, and performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • At least two years experience in a similar role.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to interpret a variety of data.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and accounting software.

  • CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes a variety of activities as it relates to the financial statement close process including certain revenue and operating expense accruals.
  • Performs analytical review of certain revenues and operating expenses.
  • Performs general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assists in and completes certain deliverables related to annual and quarterly analysis.
  • Assists with the preparation of the company’s income tax workpapers and prepares supporting documentation for annual tax return filings.
  • Provides support and participates in the gathering of information for internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI productivity tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort. Comfort working alongside automated systems and evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy.
  • Identifies ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the department.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned by management.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
