About The Position

The person in this role will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of accounting information, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and maintaining compliance with federal regulations, including FAR and DFARS. Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong ethics and integrity, especially when dealing with confidential financial data
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, regulated environment
  • Strong background in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/federal regulations
  • Proficient with Accounting Software/General Ledger Software programs
  • Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
  • May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Deltek Costpoint or similar)
  • Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and Project Accounting

Responsibilities

  • Delivering timely and accurate financial processing, month end close, cash management reports, and balance sheet reconciliation in accordance with GAAP and company policies
  • Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
  • Support the development and preparation of budgets, forecasts and projections
  • Maintain compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and reconcile project costs, labor charging, indirect rates, and billing for government contracts (e.g., T&M, FFP, CPFF)
  • Support audits (DCAA, external, internal) by preparing required documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Collaborate with Program Managers and Contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition, cost allocations, and budget tracking
  • Help maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
  • Participate in ERP system upgrades and enhancements (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Business Central)
