About The Position

The SRE Manager owns the reliability and operations of Apple’s customer-facing cloud services and leads a team of Site Reliability Engineers. The role sets technical direction for service domains in alignment with partner engineering teams and organizational priorities, while overseeing hiring, resourcing, performance management, and career development. The manager plans and prioritizes the team’s roadmap, monitors service health through SLOs, incidents, release quality, and project tracking, and communicates plans for the next 6–24 months to leadership and partner teams. They build strong relationships with partner and upstream engineering teams to foster effective collaboration between development and SRE. This is a hands-on leadership role that includes applying technical and product context to lead incident response and support production changes. Decisions are guided by data such as SLOs, incident trends, deployment statistics, and capacity forecasts. The manager is expected to continuously improve reliability, use automation and tooling to reduce toil, and measure the impact of the team’s work.

  • Experience serving as a technical lead for a production service or team, with hands-on contributions.
