About The Position

Join Apple Services Engineering (ASE) to build distributed, large-scale data processing systems, frameworks, and platforms that support Apple services. The role partners with Apple TV and Video teams to improve experiences for Apple TV customers.

The team operates petabyte-scale data platforms that provide real-time insights, support business decisions, and shape Apple TV and Sports products. Work may include architecting real-time streaming pipelines with Apache Flink, building AI agentic workflows and MCP servers, and designing LangGraph-powered workflows that bring large language models into production data systems. Systems must scale, remain highly available, and provide consistent, trustworthy results. The role also follows Apple’s privacy principles as a core value in architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and maintaining production-grade applications using Java and/or Scala.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems using technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, or Cassandra.
• Hands-on experience with AI technologies, including building MCP servers, designing agentic workflows, and integrating large language models.
• Good understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
• Ability to create architecture and design documents.
• Ability to assemble multifaceted requirements and translate them into practical engineering tasks.
