About The Position
The Senior Welder is responsible for welding in the construction, installation, modification, and repair of the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s plumbing, sewer, storm sewer, gas, steam infrastructure facilities, hand rails, platforms, and other welding needed and to ensure the continued safe and reliable distribution and discharge of utility pipe lines to the Campus. The Senior Welder performs and coordinates welding activities using heliarc, shielded metal arc, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment. The position is responsible for welding on various materials including high pressure steam lines and for general campus repairs.

Responsibilities
- Welding in the construction, installation, modification, and repair of the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s plumbing, sewer, storm sewer, gas, steam infrastructure facilities, hand rails, platforms, and other welding needed.
- Ensure the continued safe and reliable distribution and discharge of utility pipe lines to the Campus.
- Perform and coordinate welding activities using heliarc, shielded metal arc, and oxy-acetylene welding equipment.
- Perform welding on various materials including high pressure steam lines.
- Perform general campus repairs.
