About The Position

The Material Control Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of products stored, which includes counting and inspecting products, physical inventory, replenishments, reporting damage or discrepancies, reconciling inventory discrepancies, product put away, and reallocation. This role will verify inventory accuracy meets quality standards and all inventory control functions will be processed as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures. The Material Control Clerk may be responsible for operating material handling equipment and performing other job assignments as assigned. The occupant of this position is responsible for the safe operation of a 12-passenger van and a Utility/Service truck to transport and deliver personnel, materials, and equipment across campus and to off-campus locations. Additionally, the position occupant will perform light maintenance work such as inspecting vehicles at the beginning of each shift to ensure they are in good cosmetic and mechanical condition.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 6 months experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift experience 6 months minimum.
  • Must possess and maintain a Valid (Class D) Driver's license.
  • Must follow traffic regulations.
  • Must be able to read maps/GPS and understand delivery instructions.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a level of inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility, while maximizing space utilization.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and product movement.
  • Controlling and isolating non-conforming product as defined by local work instructions to ensure a conforming product mix which facilitates efficient order fulfillment.
  • Maintaining warehouse safety standards in work performance.
  • Maintaining product identification program, researching inventory discrepancies, and making necessary corrections.
  • Logging and processing product returns.
  • Ensuring all labeling requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Performing pre and post trip checks on each vehicle.
  • Visually inspecting the exterior and interior of the vehicles at the beginning of each shift to ensure that they are in good cosmetic condition as well as good mechanical condition, functioning correctly.
  • Transporting of personnel, materials, and equipment in all weather, light, road, and traffic conditions.
  • Checking and replacing basic parts, such as headlights, brake lights, mirrors, tires, windshield wipers, fluid levels, etc.
  • Maintaining clean vehicles.
  • Driving applicable shifts and ensuring compliance with “Hours of Service” requirements by arriving to work on time and driving the vehicles following a set schedule, route, or per supervisor or dispatcher instructions.
  • Enforcing University guidelines for safe vehicle operation.
  • Attending and successfully completing all required safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Performing all other duties deemed necessary to support the operation.
  • Maintaining currency in Forklift operation certification.
