About The Position

The Walt Disney Studios’ Studio Technology Design team partners with filmmakers, artists, production teams, and technologists to create enterprise software for filmmaking. The team designs intuitive products that simplify complex workflows, enable creativity, and support studio work. The Senior Product Designer will shape internal tools across a portfolio of enterprise products used by artists, production teams, and studio operations, partnering with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders. The designer independently leads projects from discovery through delivery, applying systems thinking, UX craft, and visual design to create intuitive, scalable experiences. The role contributes to the design system, influences product direction, and helps raise design quality. It requires curiosity, collaboration, comfort with ambiguity, strong storytelling, and interest in emerging technologies, including AI. This hybrid role is based in the Glendale, California office, with on-site work expected 3–4 days per week. Remote candidates are not eligible. A CV and portfolio are required for consideration. The hiring range is $129,300–$159,000 per year; actual base pay may vary based on factors including geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided, along with medical, financial, and other benefits depending on level and position.

  • Strong interaction design, information architecture, and visual design skills.
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking practices.
  • Experience planning and conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Experience contributing to or building scalable design systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and AI-assisted prototyping tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, including the ability to explain design decisions to cross-functional partners and leadership.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and transform complex production workflows into human-centered experiences.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivation, strong organization, and attention to detail.

  • On-site work in the Glendale office 3–4 days per week; remote candidates are not eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leveraging AI-powered design, research, and productivity tools to enhance design workflows is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using AI-assisted prototyping and development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, and iteration is a plus.
  • Experience in enterprise, desktop-first web applications is valued; portfolios primarily focused on consumer mobile applications are unlikely to be a strong fit.

  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to define product strategy, identify opportunities, and deliver user-centered solutions.
  • Design desktop-first experiences that simplify complex enterprise workflows while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Plan and conduct user research, including interviews, workflow analysis, and usability testing, and translate insights into design decisions.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes to communicate concepts, validate ideas, and support implementation.
  • Contribute to and evolve the design system to support consistency, accessibility, scalability, and visual quality.
