About The Position

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Senior Epic Systems Analyst – Grand Central/Prelude. The position develops Epic application solutions by investigating processes and understanding data and communications flow, including individual tasks and transactions within an Integrated Delivery System. The analyst translates user needs into requirements, assesses workflows and system needs, evaluates solutions, supports installation and configuration, and coordinates implementations and upgrades.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Nine years of experience in hospital information systems selection, implementation, and support.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, healthcare administration, or another related field. A bachelor’s degree substitutes for four years of work experience.
• A master’s degree substitutes for two years of work experience.
• Up to two years of clinical patient care and/or clinical research experience may substitute for up to two years of information systems experience on a month-to-month basis.
• Direct work experience at Epic Systems Corporation is counted at a premium: each year of Epic Systems Corporation experience counts as two years of experience.
• Epic certification in Grand Central/Prelude.

Responsibilities

• Translates users’ needs into detailed requirements and specifications.
• Identifies system and application needs.
• Analyzes current business practices, user needs, and workflow processes.
• Documents current-state and future-state business processes.
• Performs vendor analyses and makes recommendations.
• Investigates alternative solutions and conducts feasibility studies using vendor analysis and evaluation results.
• Facilitates and supports system installation throughout the implementation cycle.
• Performs configuration analyses to support system design.
• Analyzes system problems and recommends modifications.
• Coordinates system implementations and upgrades.
• Participates in committee meetings as an information systems representative.
