About The Position

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Senior Epic Systems Analyst for Grand Central/Prelude. The role develops Epic application solutions by investigating processes and understanding data and communications flows, tasks, and transactions across an Integrated Delivery System. The analyst translates user needs into requirements, assesses system and application needs, evaluates workflows and potential solutions, and supports system design, installation, implementation, and upgrades. The role also represents information systems in committee meetings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Nine years of experience in hospital information systems selection, implementation, and support.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, healthcare administration, or another related field.
• A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of work experience; a master’s degree may substitute for two years of work experience.
• Up to two years of clinical patient care and/or clinical research experience may substitute for up to two years of information systems experience on a month-to-month basis.
• Direct work experience at Epic Systems Corporation is counted at a premium: each year of Epic Systems Corporation experience counts as two years of experience.
• Epic certification in Grand Central/Prelude.

Responsibilities

• Translate users’ needs into detailed requirements and specifications.
• Identify system and application needs.
• Analyze current business practices, user needs, and workflow processes.
• Document current-state and future-state business processes.
• Perform vendor analyses and make recommendations.
• Investigate alternative solutions and conduct feasibility studies using vendor analysis and evaluation results.
• Facilitate and support system installation throughout the implementation cycle.
• Perform configuration analyses to support system design.
• Analyze system problems and recommend modifications.
• Coordinate system implementations and upgrades.
• Participate in committee meetings as an information systems representative.
