Summary HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator to provide mid-level system administration, lifecycle upgrades, and enterprise support for distributed Navy training environments. This role ensures reliable operation of Linux- and Windows-based systems, Performs OS upgrade efforts and provides technical support and leadership across sites. The position requires independent technical judgment, strong problem-solving ability, and the expertise to maintain secure, high‑availability systems. This full‑time, on‑site role is part of a high‑performing engineering team delivering mission‑driven solutions that improve warfighter training and decision‑making.

Requirements

  • Bachalors Degree with 12 years of relevant experince; OR Masters Degree with 10 years relevant experience
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to architnitiatives.ect, manage, and secure complex enterprise‑level systems and servers.
  • Advanced proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including configuration, system hardening, and deep troubleshooting across multiple versions.
  • Proven expertise with the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), and large‑scale patch management.
  • Background mentoring technical staff and contributing to system modernization and improvement i
  • Ability to otain a DoD Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+) within 3 months of hire if not currently held.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have a current or active DoD Secret clearance.

  • Experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
  • Experience with Navy Training Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Maintain multi-OS lab environment (i.e. RHEL, Rocky, Windows 11) systems across standalone network systems in a lab environment to support USN BFTT/ATD training systems
  • Configure, upgrade, and administer Linux (RHEL, Rocky) systems, including installation, BIOS settings, patching
  • Configure, upgrade, and administer Windows (e.g. Windows11) systems, including installation, BIOS settings, patching
  • Configure, upgrade, and administer switch IOS (e.g. HP Aruba and Cisco) systems, including installation, BIOS settings, patching
  • Provide troubleshooting for the environment to provide local and distance support for peers and coworkers
  • Provide recommendations to the customer based on issues during installation, and operational testing, to include issues with patching and cyber security
  • Attend various meetings as related to products
  • Work with customers through the lifecycle of the project from planning, procurement, Test & Evaluation, Implementation, & Operations and Maintenance
  • Assist with trouble-ticket creation, resolution, implementation
  • Document creation, review, updates, releasability reviews
