About The Position

Wright Tool Company (WTC) is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Systems Administrator to own the day-to-day operation and support of the company’s business IT environment. This role is the primary on-site technical resource supporting end users, warehouse operations, Windows infrastructure, and business-critical systems—with a strong emphasis on SQL Server and operational ERP/WMS support. The Senior Systems Administrator will independently execute operational IT responsibilities while coordinating larger environmental changes with the IT Manager. This role is ideal for a seasoned Windows administrator who is comfortable supporting both legacy and modern systems in a highly operational, warehouse-driven business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Windows Systems Administrator or similar role
  • Associates degree in related field required
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration
  • Strong experience with Active Directory
  • Strong experience with Windows 10/11 endpoint support
  • Strong SQL Server experience supporting production applications
  • Comfortable supporting a mix of legacy (older/32-bit) and modern Windows environments
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize operational needs, and communicate effectively with non-technical users

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse or distribution center IT experience preferred
  • Exposure to regulated or government-contractor environments preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Sage 300 ERP administration or support experience preferred
  • Experience supporting high-volume printing and Zebra label printers preferred
  • Experience working with MSPs and owning ticket resolution end-to-end preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary on-site IT support resource for all employees
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops and laptops, user accounts, authentication, and access issues, Office and warehouse printing, Zebra label printers and shipping label workflows, and mobile warehouse devices and scanners
  • Support pick/pack/ship workstations and high-volume printing operations critical to daily fulfillment
  • Administer and support a hybrid Windows environment including On-prem Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Commercial / Entra ID
  • Perform user onboarding and offboarding tasks (accounts, group access, device readiness, license alignment)
  • Manage endpoint lifecycle activities including imaging/provisioning, replacements, break/fix support, and retirement
  • Administer Windows Server 2022 systems, including VMware vSphere virtual servers hosted on on-site physical infrastructure and SAN storage
  • Perform routine server administration and troubleshooting for service availability, capacity and performance issues, and scheduled maintenance
  • Coordinate with the MSP on EDR, patching, vulnerability remediation, backup execution, and restore validation
  • Provide primary operational support for SQL Server 2022, including scheduled jobs and automation monitoring, failure response and remediation, backup and restore coordination, basic performance troubleshooting and optimization, and maintenance of SQL views used by ERP, WMS, and automation workflows
  • Support and coordinate with vendors for business applications, including Sage 300 ERP, PathGuide Latitude WMS, Epicor EDI HQ, Sage Inventory Advisor, and Sage plug-ins (Tairox Tools, Orchid EFT)
  • Support and administer the on-prem Ubiquiti UniFi network environment - Network (switching and wireless), Protect (cameras), access (door key scan), Connect (digital signage)
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, especially in warehouse and production areas
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and coordinate hardware replacements and spares
  • Perform routine administrative changes independently as part of normal operations
  • Execute approved changes safely with documentation and rollback awareness
  • Coordinate with and obtain IT Manager approval for significant environmental or architectural changes that impact availability, security posture, or system boundaries
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, including setup and troubleshooting guides, new hire IT onboarding checklists, and common recovery and support procedures
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend operational improvements to enhance stability and efficiency
  • Provide after-hours or off-schedule support only in extenuating circumstances, such as critical business outages or urgent operational disruptions
