About The Position

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides solutions across the asset life cycle, including licensed process technologies, advisory services, technical expertise, energy transition solutions, design capabilities, and smart solutions. KBR is seeking a Communications & Community Engagement Specialist to support internal communications, stakeholder engagement, and community outreach for a major pharmaceutical manufacturing project. As part of the Program Management Consultant (PMC) team, the specialist will help ensure employees, project partners, community stakeholders, and local organizations receive clear, timely, and accurate information throughout the project lifecycle. The position supports communications planning and execution, creates communication materials, coordinates stakeholder engagement, and helps deliver events and outreach programs. Reporting to the Workforce & Community Partnerships Manager, the role suits a communications professional experienced in coordinating communications, events, and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced project environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
5–7 years of experience in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, employee communications, or a related field.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience developing communication materials for multiple audiences.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience coordinating meetings, events, or stakeholder engagement activities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration platforms.
Ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.

Experience supporting large capital projects, construction programs, manufacturing operations, or industrial environments.
Experience with community engagement, public outreach, or workforce development initiatives.
Experience supporting executive communications or leadership presentations.
Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.

Responsibilities

Support execution of the project's communications and community engagement plan.
Develop and distribute newsletters, project updates, presentations, announcements, leadership communications, and other communication materials.
Coordinate project communications across email, digital platforms, SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
Draft key messages, briefing materials, talking points, and presentation content for project leaders and stakeholder meetings.
Assist with planning and delivery of employee engagement activities, project events, milestone celebrations, site visits, and community outreach initiatives.
Support engagement with local community organizations, educational institutions, workforce development partners, economic development organizations, and government stakeholders.
Coordinate logistics and communications for stakeholder meetings, public information sessions, and project briefings.
Maintain stakeholder contact lists, communication records, meeting summaries, and engagement trackers.
Work with project teams to gather information and communicate major project milestones, achievements, and updates.
Assist in collecting stakeholder feedback and preparing reports that measure engagement and communication effectiveness.
Ensure communication materials align with project objectives, client requirements, and KBR standards.
