About The Position

As a Sr. Solutions Engineer on the AI native team supporting the Digital Natives business, you will work with sophisticated data engineering and data science teams to shape the big data landscape. Reporting to the Field Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with customers, product teams, and the broader customer-facing team to develop architectures and solutions using Databricks' platform and APIs. You will guide customers through the competitive landscape, best practices, and implementation, while developing technical champions.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales or consulting role.
Experience building distributed data systems.
Comfort programming in and debugging Python and SQL.
Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Expertise in either data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, or data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
Availability to travel to customers in your region.

Nice To Haves

Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

Partner with the sales team and provide technical leadership to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
Consult on Big Data architectures and implement proofs of concept for strategic projects across data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows.
Validate integrations with cloud services, home-grown tools, and third-party applications.
Collaborate with fellow Solutions Architects to support one another and Databricks users.
Become an expert in Databricks-inspired open-source projects, promote them, and recruit contributors from the developer community.
