Sr. Solutions Architect - AI Natives Business
About The Position
As a Sr. Solutions Architect on the AI native team supporting the Digital Natives business, you will help shape the big data landscape by working with advanced data engineering and data science teams. Reporting to the Field Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with customers, product teams, and the broader customer-facing team to develop architectures and solutions using the Databricks platform and APIs. You will guide customers through the competitive landscape, best practices, and implementation, while helping develop technical champions. You will partner with Sales to provide technical leadership and help customers understand how Databricks can address their business problems. The role includes consulting on big data architectures, implementing proof of concepts for strategic projects across data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows, and validating integrations with cloud services, internal tools, and third-party applications. You will also collaborate with other Solutions Architects and promote Databricks-inspired open-source projects in the developer community.
Requirements
- 7+ years in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales or consulting role.
- Experience building distributed data systems.
- Comfort programming in and debugging Python and SQL.
- Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, or in data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Availability to travel to customers in your region.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
- Databricks Certification.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales team and provide technical leadership to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
- Consult on big data architectures.
- Implement proof of concepts for strategic projects spanning data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows.
- Validate integrations with cloud services, home-grown tools, and third-party applications.
- Collaborate with fellow Solutions Architects to support colleagues and users.
- Become an expert in, promote, and recruit contributors for Databricks-inspired open-source projects, including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
- Guide customers through the competitive landscape, best practices, and implementation, and develop technical champions.
