About The Position

Addepar is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join its rapidly growing AI Platform team, which builds innovative AI solutions across Addepar’s product suite. The role is responsible for architecting, leading, and executing core AI capabilities that power the platform. The engineer will own end-to-end delivery of AI-native products, turning advanced AI systems into robust, scalable, high-performance production services. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship, and must be authorized to begin work in the U.S. on their first day of employment. Compensation includes base salary, bonus, equity, and benefits. The stated U.S. base salary range is $188,000–$235,000; the specific starting pay depends on role-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.

Requirements

3–6+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
Expertise in programming languages and technologies such as Python, Golang, gRPC, AWS, and Kubernetes.
Proven track record of owning and shipping complex, production-grade systems.
Experience shipping and maintaining AI-native products or features, or significant personal AI projects demonstrating passion for the field.
Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to see projects through to completion and raise the bar for execution.
Bias for action and passion for shipping rapidly and iterating based on feedback.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship, and authorization to begin work in the U.S. on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

Specific experience with LLMs and agentic systems.
Hands-on experience with modern AI/LLM ecosystem technologies such as Databricks, Langchain, or MLFlow.
Advanced understanding of the probabilistic systems underpinning modern LLMs.
Experience building AI products in accuracy-sensitive domains such as finance.

Responsibilities

Drive end-to-end execution and delivery of AI-native products, from initial prototype to scalable production services.
Architect, build, and productionize core AI platform components, including LLMs and related technologies such as vector databases and prompt tuning.
Build and productionize agentic frameworks and core agent capabilities, including MCP/cross-platform tool use, web browsing, and computer use.
Enforce technical discipline and operational excellence across AI products.
Iterate on AI products using performance metrics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Lead evaluation and adoption of new AI technologies and frameworks.
Partner with product managers and other engineering teams to translate strategic goals into technical solutions and abstract AI complexity so teams can iterate quickly.
