About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Safe-Guard, you will design and build the applications that clients rely on every day. You will serve as a senior hands-on technical contributor across front-end and back-end platforms, working from design through delivery. The role focuses on protecting data integrity, delivering reliable platform experiences, and building durable solutions that keep pace with evolving client needs. This is a hybrid role based in Sandy Springs, Atlanta, Georgia, with onsite work Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Angular and TypeScript, with experience developing complex, high-performance applications.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of front-end and back-end development and how they fit together.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, including integrations with third-party services and downstream data consumers.
• Working knowledge of software design patterns and data structures, and ability to contribute to scalable application and database architecture.
• Ability to take technical work from design through delivery, partnering with technical leadership on planning and architectural decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including critical and creative thinking.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with a pragmatic approach to the software development lifecycle.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must successfully pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with caching optimizations and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, ECR, and ECS.
• Competency in AWS services, including ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFront.
• Background in payment processing, transactional systems, or other financial software.
• Experience with AI engineering and processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build features for Safe-Guard’s Angular-based applications as the senior hands-on technical contributor.
• Own the release process by executing deployments, assessing technical readiness, and advising on release schedules.
• Maintain and enhance backend APIs, partnering with teams that consume the APIs or downstream data.
• Work with product, QA, and other cross-functional partners to define and deliver features and integrations.
• Review junior developers’ code, providing constructive feedback to raise code quality and reinforce best practices.
• Triage incoming bugs and security findings, assess severity, and recommend priorities in partnership with the engineering manager.
• Monitor application performance and resolve technical issues across the full stack.
• Provide effort estimates and technical input for sprint and roadmap planning, and participate in agile ceremonies.
• Drive the upgrade roadmap by identifying framework, package, and dependency updates and recommending priorities.
• Become the subject-matter expert on assigned systems and workflows, and mentor teammates.
