Sr. Software Developer - Symmetry

Symmetry Software, now part of Gusto, is seeking a senior software engineer and architect to join their engineering team. The role involves designing and architecting applications, tools, and end-to-end solutions using various programming languages and front-end frameworks. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in building distributed applications, RESTful services, and complex product development. They should also have a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences and be comfortable working in a collaborative, test-driven environment. • Own what you build as you architect, test, and refine Symmetry's product suite.
• Use data and rapid experimentation to gain insights and improve products and tools.
• Tackle a wide variety of technical problems throughout the stack and contribute daily to all parts of the product code base.
• Collaborate with product management and design teams to understand customer pain points, come up with solutions, and prototype, iterate, and launch daily.
• Build a product that customers genuinely love.
• Work on old codebases using the latest front-end/backend technologies within the cloud.
• Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Have 10+ years of progressive technical experience as a software engineer/architect building distributed applications or solutions.
• Have experience consuming and/or designing RESTful services.
• Have experience in architectural and implementation-level design.
• Have demonstrated experience in solving complex product development problems.

• Have a strong foundation and previous architect experience in data structures, software designs, microservices, containers, and serverless architecture.

• Have knowledge of SQL and fundamentals of relational database design (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Have experience with Agile development, continuous integration, and DevOps culture.
