Sr Security Officer - Full Time - Day

About The Position

The Sr Security Officer oversees and directs the day-to-day work of security personnel. The role enforces policies, rules, and regulations to maintain the security of team members, patients, students, the public, buildings, grounds, and traffic at the facility during the designated shift. The officer works throughout the Medical Center, including parking lots, grounds, and outer buildings, and may be required to work in all weather conditions. The position also performs duties assigned by Security Leadership and executes the physical security component of the emergency management plan when an emergency occurs.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent program.
At least 3 years of experience in hospital security or law enforcement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills, which may include Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Possession of a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of security and traffic regulations and procedures.
Documented security supervisory training.

Responsibilities

Direct and oversee security officers in the performance of their duties.
Staff and schedule security personnel.
Review the daily activity log and ensure computer-based reports and security incident reports are submitted at the end of the shift.
Investigate and document security incidents occurring during the shift.
Respond to fire drills, perform fire watches, and facilitate fire department inspections scheduled by the regional safety function.
Respond to security calls and emergency codes, including plain-language Emergency Codes, and ensure security personnel carry out their assigned duties.
Investigate incidents of stolen property on HMH property during the shift, take action to locate the property, and complete and submit reports through the proper channels.
Work in all areas of the Medical Center, including parking lots, grounds, and outer buildings, as requested, and in all weather conditions.
Perform duties assigned by Security Leadership and execute the physical security component of the emergency management plan during emergencies.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
