About The Position

Saint Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City is seeking an Armed Security Officer to provide security services on the hospital campus. The role requires knowledge of security practices, including patrolling, approved security responses, and reporting incidents and issues according to department procedures. Officers assist employees, patients, and visitors with parking and access needs, provide personal escorts and other routine security services, and work both autonomously and as part of a team. Candidates must be at least 21 years old. The posting describes the position as full-time and lists day shift, with scheduled hours of either 7:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. or 11:00 p.m.–9:00 a.m. The starting hourly rate is $25.00, with compensation based on education, certification, and experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Applicable experience: less than 1 year.
Armed Private Officer Commission from the KCPD Board of Police Commissioners.
Class E driver's license.
Strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, willingness to work, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
Ability to work autonomously and with a team.

Responsibilities

Assist employees, patients, and visitors with parking needs and control entrances and exits to parking lots.
Patrol the hospital campus and report safety and security issues according to department procedures.
Provide personal escorts and other routine security services to employees, patients, and visitors.
Carry out approved security responses and report incidents and issues according to department procedures.
