About The Position

Saint Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City is seeking an Armed Security Officer. The role involves hospital security duties, including patrolling, approved security responses, and reporting incidents and issues according to department procedures. The officer assists employees, patients, and visitors with parking and routine security services, and works both autonomously and as part of a team. Candidates should have a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. Individuals must be at least 21 years old. The shift is listed as full-time day, with hours of either 7:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. or 11:00 p.m.–9:00 a.m. The starting hourly rate is $25.00, with compensation based on education, certification, and experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Applicable experience: less than one year.
Armed Private Officer Commission.
KCPD Board of Police Commissioners credential.
Class E driver’s license.
Strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, willingness to work, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Assist employees, patients, and visitors with parking needs and control entrances and exits to parking lots.
Patrol the hospital campus and report safety and security issues according to department procedures.
Provide personal escorts and other routine security services to employees, patients, and visitors.
Use approved security responses and report incidents and issues according to department procedures.
