About The Position

As a full-time Armed Security Officer in Tampa, Florida, you will safeguard clients at a utilities location. You will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible security presence, respond professionally to situations, and provide customer service and clear communication while supporting site operations. The role requires adherence to site-specific procedures and security protocols, including access control, emergency response, equipment readiness, and incident documentation.

Requirements

Possess an armed guard card or license.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; required for driving positions only.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and the public while following site-specific procedures and security protocols at a utility location.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, identifying and reporting unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following emergency response procedures and coordinating with appropriate personnel and public responders.
Maintain readiness of assigned equipment, communicate observations clearly, and complete required reports in accordance with company and site requirements.
