About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate who is passionate about music and enjoys helping customers discover instruments and products. The role combines customer service, sales, product expertise, relationship building, merchandising, store operations, and team leadership. The associate helps create a welcoming store environment, supports customers and colleagues, and contributes to sales goals. As a keyholding team member, the associate may open and close the store as needed.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
• A proven track record in sales and ability to exceed sales targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and motivate others toward shared goals.
• Flexibility to work additional hours if needed and nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find gear that supports their musical interests.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets, including through upselling and cross-selling instruments and accessories.
• Maintain expert knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve colleagues’ product knowledge.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and support fellow associates in doing so.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members and support them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
