About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate to create welcoming customer experiences, help customers find instruments and equipment, and contribute to store sales and operations. The role combines sales, music product knowledge, customer relationship building, merchandising, and team leadership. As a keyholding team member, the associate may open and close the store as needed. The position is suited to a music enthusiast who enjoys retail sales, customer service, and supporting coworkers. Guitar Center offers a creative, vibrant environment with opportunities to grow, share musical interests, and help others discover music. Musicians employed by Guitar Center may use gig leave to take time off to perform and return to their job after touring.

Requirements

Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
Proven track record in sales and ability to exceed targets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment and strong organizational skills.
Ability to influence and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
Openness to working additional hours if needed and nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming environment and help customers find gear suited to their musical interests and needs.
Achieve and exceed sales targets through sales, upselling, and cross-selling instruments and accessories.
Maintain expert-level knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve coworkers’ product knowledge.
Build strong customer relationships and support fellow associates in developing relationships within the local music community.
Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
Guide and mentor team members, supporting them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
