About The Position

Toshiba International Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Rotating Equipment Field Service Technician to support the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial motors, generators, and rotating equipment throughout North America. This role is ideal for an experienced field service professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working directly with customers, and providing hands-on support at industrial facilities. You'll work alongside engineering, manufacturing, and service teams while serving as a trusted technical expert on mission-critical equipment. Position Summary The Senior Rotating Equipment Field Technician performs advanced diagnostics, inspections, repairs, commissioning, and field service activities on industrial AC/DC motors, generators, and associated rotating equipment. This individual serves as a technical resource for customers and internal teams, providing expert troubleshooting and recommendations to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction. This position requires extensive technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently at customer facilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial motors or rotating equipment.
  • Strong experience with AC/DC motor diagnostics and repair.
  • Experience performing field service work at customer facilities.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment failures.
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance and reliability principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territories.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of industrial motor, generator, or rotating equipment service experience.
  • Experience with commissioning, startup, and field overhauls.
  • Previous experience working for a motor manufacturer, repair facility, OEM, or rotating equipment service provider.
  • Knowledge of industry standards including: NEMA IEEE UL CE
  • Experience supporting customers in power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, water/wastewater, mining, or other heavy industrial environments.

  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of military training, trade school certification, apprenticeship, or industry experience will be considered.
  • Technical certifications in vibration analysis, motor diagnostics, reliability, or rotating equipment maintenance are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of industrial motors, generators, and rotating equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures using advanced testing methods and diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct field inspections and determine root causes of equipment failures.
  • Perform vibration analysis and other predictive maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical recommendations for repairs, overhauls, and equipment upgrades.
  • Assist customers with startup, commissioning, and operational support.
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC motors, including large horsepower industrial motors exceeding 1,000 HP.
  • Evaluate motor, bearing, rotor, stator, and winding failures.
  • Analyze customer reports and inspection findings to identify equipment issues and corrective actions.
  • Work with Design Engineering and Product Support teams to resolve technical concerns.
  • Prepare detailed service reports documenting findings, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for customers during field service activities.
  • Communicate repair recommendations and technical findings in a professional manner.
  • Support warranty investigations by providing technical evaluations and documentation.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through responsiveness, professionalism, and quality workmanship.
  • Follow all company and customer safety procedures while working in industrial environments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Stay current on industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices related to motor and rotating equipment service.
  • Participate in technical training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
