About The Position

This is a key, remote full-time role responsible for reinforcing-steel estimating and detailing. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource for estimating, project management, and operations, and help establish the company’s estimating standards, production rates, historical cost database, and reinforcing-steel preconstruction process. The role requires independently reviewing structural drawings and specifications, performing reinforcing-steel takeoffs, developing labor and material pricing, understanding detailing requirements, identifying constructability issues, and providing management with reliable estimates of project cost and risk. The position also supports project turnover, project managers, field personnel, and preconstruction activities. It will help develop standardized estimating procedures, templates, checklists, production-rate databases, software practices, and quality-control procedures, and mentor junior estimators and detailers. The role may eventually assume responsibility for the company’s reinforcing-steel estimating and detailing function. Periodic travel to project sites and company meetings is required. A formal college degree is not required when the candidate has substantial relevant industry experience.
