About The Position

This remote, full-time role is a key position responsible for reinforcing-steel estimating, detailing, and preconstruction support. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource to estimating, project management, and operations teams and help establish estimating standards, production rates, a historical cost database, and the company’s reinforcing-steel preconstruction process. The role requires substantial hands-on reinforcing-steel industry experience and the ability to independently review structural drawings and specifications, perform takeoffs, develop labor and material pricing, understand detailing requirements, identify constructability issues, and assess project cost and risk. The position covers complete reinforcing-steel estimates, including material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight, and other project costs. It also includes preparing and reviewing placing drawings and bar lists, coordinating reinforcing steel with other building requirements, identifying conflicts, coordinating RFIs and revisions, and supporting project teams with constructability and cost issues. The employee will participate in project turnover and preconstruction, analyze estimated versus actual performance, and provide technical support to field supervision when required. The candidate will help develop standardized estimating procedures, templates, checklists, production-rate databases, quality-control procedures, and software practices. They will mentor junior estimators and detailers as the department grows, with the opportunity to eventually lead the company’s reinforcing-steel estimating and detailing function. Periodic travel to project sites and company meetings is required. The position reports to the President / Executive Management.
