About The Position

The Sr Product Manager – Pricing role at Target is responsible for improving affordability for Guests by leading the vision, strategy, and capability development of the centralized price management capability for the Enterprise. This involves driving innovation through ownership of roadmap price decisioning, including expanding the use of AI and explainability of algorithmic recommendations. The role has ownership for both front-end and back-end development/design, delivering a flagship Price Product that serves thousands of users across the enterprise. The Product Manager will partner with Pricing Strategy and Operations to evaluate current strategies, determine optimal pricing using competitive intelligence, data science forecasting models, and financial guardrails, all while keeping the Guest at the center of decisions. Collaboration with a data insights team will be key for developing business cases with significant financial impact, incorporating industry intelligence and shifting Guest expectations in a rapidly evolving pricing solution space. The role operates within the product model, developing product strategy, roadmaps, and setting key business objectives (OKRs). This involves assessing value, developing business cases, and prioritizing the product direction based on customer feedback and data. The Product Manager will lead a product team, working with engineers, UX designers, data scientists, and business partners, acting as the "voice of the product" to key stakeholders. Responsibilities include understanding the market, maintaining a product roadmap and backlog, and prioritizing work for maximum impact. The role also involves fostering open communication, inspiring high performance, and driving a sense of urgency while collaborating with other product teams.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of product management experience
  • Domain experience in algorithmic operational decisioning applications
  • Experience with user research methods and collaboration with UX partners
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in business case development for product prioritization
  • Experience leading product roadmaps in data science leveraging techniques such as forecasting, clustering, and GenAI
  • Ability to lead a body of work with cross-functional partners
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g., user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Strong communication skills

  • Lead a product team in unison with engineers, UX designers, data scientists, and business partners.
  • Act as the “voice of the product” to key stakeholders.
  • Develop and actively understand the market.
  • Maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining customer themes, epics, and stories.
  • Prioritize the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for the team and stakeholders.
