About The Position

Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is a healthcare organization serving the Columbia River Gorge community from The Dalles, Oregon. The Sr. Mechanical Technician helps keep the facilities’ vehicles and equipment in reliable operation and good repair. The role performs moderately difficult general and preventive maintenance, maintains required records, and assists with training team members.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license and minimum age of 21 are required.
EPA Section 608 Certification, Plumbing Certification, or equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

High school education, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
An associate or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, is preferred.
Five years of mechanical maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and perform a variety of moderately difficult general mechanical repairs and services.
Alter and repair vehicles or equipment according to established skills, standard procedures, diagrams, or manufacturers’ instructions.
Inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance and required safety tests.
Correct problems encountered and promptly report equipment or system operation problems to the supervisor.
Contact outside service assistance for major equipment failures beyond the employee’s skill level.
Maintain records of service cycles and other maintenance activities.
Maintain required preventive maintenance records, reports, and files.
Inspect work performed by junior employees.
Assist in training and mentoring junior employees.
Maintain the tools and supplies needed to perform duties.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
