About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Data Analytics in Finance Capabilities will serve as a senior technical leader for Finance’s adoption of Target’s modern data platform and lead the end-to-end data validation strategy supporting Finance Modernization. The role partners across Finance, Product Management, engineering, enterprise data platform teams, Risk & Controls, and SOX IT to ensure modern data solutions meet Finance’s needs and that data is complete, accurate, controlled, and fit for use from source applications through GCP. The position owns the Finance modern source application-to-data-platform validation strategy, including frameworks, acceptance criteria, reconciliation approaches, evidence expectations, and issue-management practices. It leads independent contractor resources performing validation work by setting priorities and technical expectations, reviewing outputs, and helping resolve complex data-quality issues. The role does not own engineering pipelines or delivery of data into the modern data platform, but provides technical leadership to ensure solutions meet Finance expectations for quality, traceability, and sustainability. The Sr. Manager acts as a technical advocate for Finance with data platform, architecture, Product Management, and engineering teams; reviews and challenges technical designs; identifies risks and gaps; and drives resolution of systemic technical issues. The role helps ensure reconciliation, controls, auditability, and data quality are incorporated into modern data solutions, and establishes common technical patterns and guardrails for Finance adoption of capabilities such as Google BigQuery, Microsoft Power BI, Google Looker, and related tools. The role operates in a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day arrangement, with work performed both onsite at the assigned Target HQ location in Minnesota and virtually, depending on role, team, and daily tasks. Work duties cannot be performed outside the country of the primary work location unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
