About The Position

Central Transport is hiring an Operations Supervisor to oversee a designated section of a terminal dock. The supervisor manages the unloading process, forklift traffic, and the proper picking and sortation of palletized freight. The role manages up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel, builds loads according to available labor and freight levels, and monitors trailer cube and weight to ensure carriers are properly loaded. The supervisor also monitors dock production, hours, and overtime; ensures performance goals and operational models are met; and maintains a safe, compliant workplace while supporting excellent service and product quality for internal and external customers. The position is based at 11040 N Dixie Dr, Vandalia, Ohio, and the listed schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Candidates must be willing to work an average of 50 hours per week, any shift including nights or weekends, and in any weather condition. The listed salary range is $60,000–$75,000, with the opportunity to earn up to 10% in bonuses.

Requirements

Experience managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
Prior management, dispatch, and dock experience required, preferably in the LTL trucking industry.
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
Desire to provide customers with excellent service.
High aptitude for technology.
Ability to multitask while remaining detail-oriented.
Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to work an average of 50 hours per week.
Willingness to work any shift, including nights and weekends, and in any weather condition.
Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-pressure environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Monitor dock production to ensure facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met or exceeded.
Monitor employee hours and overtime.
Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT and OSHA standards.
Ensure compliance with the company operational model.
Support a culture of excellence in product quality for internal and external customers.
