About The Position

POP MART Americas, Inc. is seeking an Sr. HR Compliance Specialist to support employment compliance across the Americas, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, and future expansion into South America. This role will help build, maintain, and strengthen HR compliance programs, policies, audits, and risk mitigation practices across POP MART’s corporate and retail operations. The Sr. HR Compliance Specialist will partner closely with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Benefits, Legal, Retail Operations, Loss Prevention, Learning & Development, and external counsel to ensure employment practices are compliant, consistent, and scalable across multiple jurisdictions. This position is ideal for a practical compliance professional who can interpret employment requirements and translate them into clear policies, processes, training, and operational guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with experience in HR compliance, employee relations, HR operations, or employment law compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including wage and hour, paid sick leave, leaves of absence, accommodations, anti-discrimination, workplace policy compliance, and record retention.
  • Experience supporting multi-state, retail, hospitality, restaurant, or high-growth workforces strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to Canadian and/or Mexico employment compliance preferred; South America compliance experience is a plus.
  • Experience conducting HR audits, drafting policies, preparing employee communications, and managing remediation plans.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, LMS, and document management systems; Workday, Lark, or similar systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, writing, and project management skills.
  • Ability to interpret legal guidance and convert it into practical business processes.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and operate in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar HR certification preferred.
  • California employment compliance experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting retail store operations, new store openings, or distributed hourly workforces preferred.
  • Prior experience working with external employment counsel or supporting employment-related audits, claims, or agency matters preferred.
  • Spanish, French, or Portuguese language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support HR compliance programs across the Americas, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and future South America markets.
  • Monitor employment law developments and partner with HR, Legal, and business leaders to assess impact and implement necessary updates.
  • Maintain compliance calendars, policy review cycles, required postings, training requirements, reporting deadlines, and audit schedules.
  • Draft, review, and update HR policies, employee handbooks, SOPs, acknowledgments, templates, and employee communications.
  • Support compliance with wage and hour requirements, timekeeping, meal and rest breaks, overtime, paid sick leave, leaves of absence, accommodations, record retention, and other employment obligations.
  • Conduct HR compliance audits across corporate and retail locations, including reviews of employee classifications, personnel records, policy acknowledgments, scheduling practices, and payroll-related processes.
  • Identify compliance gaps and partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Operations, and Legal to develop and track remediation plans.
  • Support new store openings, market expansion, and workforce changes by ensuring applicable HR compliance requirements are addressed.
  • Provide guidance to HRBPs, managers, and business leaders on policy interpretation, documentation standards, and compliant employment practices.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to create and roll out compliance training, knowledge checks, policy refreshers, and manager resources.
  • Support responses to agency inquiries, audits, claims, subpoenas, and information requests in partnership with Legal and external counsel.
  • Prepare compliance summaries, audit findings, leadership updates, dashboards, trackers, and remediation reports.
