About The Position

The HR Compliance Specialist works across the company to help management and staff understand compliance requirements and to serve as a resource for implementing improvement plans. The role also involves working with external agencies to maintain the company’s certifications and qualifications. The specialist ensures compliance with relevant legislation, including industry-specific regulations, health and safety legislation, and employment practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Regulatory Affairs, or Human Resources.
• At least 5 years’ experience in the regulatory or compliance field.
• At least 5 years’ experience handling investigations.
• Expert-level knowledge of legislation and regulations.
• Excellent planning, problem-solving, and collaborative skills.
• Superb analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Collaborative and supportive mindset.
• Ability to travel to field or project sites with last-minute notice; 30% travel is required.

Nice To Haves

• Industry-specific knowledge is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Measure current compliance with relevant legislation across the company.
• Develop and implement improvement plans.
• Ensure the company meets standards required for external audits.
• Advise departments on continuous improvement.
• Report to management on compliance status, proposed improvements, and impending legislative changes.
• Handle investigations that come to the company.
• Conduct compliance training in the field.
• Work with external agencies to maintain certifications and qualifications.
