About The Position

University Health is seeking a hands-on Senior Environmental Services Technician to lead and support a housekeeping crew at UH Lakewood Medical Center. The role combines cleaning duties with shift leadership, team coaching, and a focus on patient and staff safety, infection control, and hospital-grade cleanliness. The technician provides direction to coworkers, trains and mentors new team members, ensures work is completed correctly and on time, and helps with cleaning tasks as needed. The position also involves communicating respectfully with staff, patients, and visitors and safely using cleaning products and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience; healthcare or institutional experience is a bonus.
• Confidence using floor machines, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
• Understanding of safe cleaning-product use on different surfaces.
• Leadership ability to guide and motivate coworkers.
• English speaking and reading ability.
• Ability to lift and carry more than 50 pounds and remain active for a full shift.
• If driving is part of the job, ability to meet fleet safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow cleaning product labels and safety instructions.
